OSCAR AND BAFTA AWARDS: Enjoy with Award-Winning Compass Box Hedonism

Posted by

Although the award season this year has been virtual, it does not mean that you can’t enjoy the ceremonies just as much from the comfort of your home and watch them through the Compass Box lens.

With the BAFTAs on the 10th and 11th April and the 93rd Academy Awards Oscars Telecast on the 25th April (1am BST 26th April), enjoy the experience with a glass of the award-winning Compass Box Hedonism.

Just pour yourself a generous measure of Compass Box Hedonism in a wine glass and nibble on Parmigiano-Reggiano popcorn – a delicious combination. Enjoying whisky in a wine glass enhances the wonderful aromas and the wider mouth of the glass allows the whisky to hit more areas of your palate.

Both award ceremonies are going to be memorable this year so make it a fun evening with a different serve: Compass Box Hedonism with Parmigiano-Reggiano popcorn!

Parmigiano-Reggiano Popcorn is easy to make:

Ingredients: ½ cup popcorn kernels | ¼ cup grapeseed or high flashpoint oil | 3 tablespoons unsalted melted butter | ¼ cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano | ½ teaspoon sea salt

Method: 1. Heat the oil in a large pot over a medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the popcorn kernels and shake the pot to gently toss the kernels until they are all coated with oil. Cover the pot with a lid that is slightly ajar to allow the steam to adjust.2. Cook until the popcorn stops popping. Remove from the heat, wait to check the popping has stopped and pour into a large bowl.3. Add the butter to the hot pot to melt. Drizzle over the popcorn and season with the cheese and salt, tossing the popcorn occasionally.

Compass Box Hedonism is the first whisky created by Compass Box in 2000, with notes of vanilla cream, caramel, delicate fruitiness and accented by flashes of coconut in the finish, it can be enjoyed neat or slightly chilled. Hedonism recently won Best Scotch Grain at the 2021 World Whiskies Awards.
