Merr-y Christmas Day 1 | That Boutiquey Whisky Company
On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me… one 24 year old Bourbon from Boutique-y Whisk(e)-y…
You gotta check the labels out, you just have to. Emily Chappell is the lady behind these wonderful works of art. Hints and clues…
Bourbon Whiskey #1 24 years old – 48% ABV
So, yes I had tried this before as part of a tasting, and I had asked myself a question “were my initial thoughts on this situational?” Yes, the answer to that is yes !!
On the evening this really wasn’t ‘talking to me’… “no real sweetness on the nose… but there’s some vanilla, a slight scent of ground coffee but not freshly ground.” Not sure if this was situational? Tasted on the Fourth of July: Twitter Tasting
I opened the calendar and low and behold this little beauty was in there.. I tried this in Manchester recently and decided that I really should have a bottle of this…so now I have one.
The nose delivers lovely rich vanilla, with coffee and lovely dark sugar a little wisp of caramel, a little black cherry and dark fruit, with a dusting of chocolate.
On the palate, as before this has a rich full mouthfeel. And I do love that… Slight hint of tannins, morello cherries and jammy berries. Woody flavours and a delicious warmth.
Lovely warming vanillar-y finish.
Many thanks to That Boutique-y Whisky Company / Atom Brands / Drinks by the Dram for this advent calendar… there’s still time to get one!!
