That Boutique-y Whisky Company | Teaninich 19 Year Old Batch 1
Dram Good Club
Another little something from That Boutique-y Whisky Company and the Dram Good Club… the Teaninich 19 year old, batch 1.
The Whisky
This is the 19 year old Teaninich, batch 1 – 48.6% abv (£66.95 from Master of Malt), bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. Have you tried any of their releases? If not, why not?
What do I know about this whisky? Well after a bit of reading I know the distillery is in Alness, Ross-shire.
The fourth sample to be discovered in this box of treats. And another label.. love their labels, Emily Chappell’s work is fantastic! The explanation of this label:
Based on a true love story from many years ago about Captain Hugh Munro (founder of this distillery). He was shot in the head behind his eyes but, he survived! Unsurprisingly, he lost his eyesight as a result. His sweetheart was forbidden from marrying him due to his condition, so she married someone else. Despite their differing paths, she continued to love him and as her dying wish, visited the church to see him one last time.

My Thoughts
Initially a light nuttiness…A light fruitiness, a scent of pencil shavings. Some spice too.
On the palate, maybe a little nutty. Touch of bitterness and orange… cream. A juicy pear… Honey sweetness. Something quite outdoorsy on the palate.
Many thanks to That Boutique-y Whisky Company and Atom Brands et al. for the sample and opportunity to try this.
Slàinte!
