That Boutique-y Whisky Company – Heaven Hill 9 Year Old – Batch 1
Dram Good Club
Another little something from the Dram Good Club…and it’s another from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, oh take me to Heaven (Hill) Baby…!!
This is the 9 year old Heaven Hill Straight Corn Whiskey – 49.5% abv (£44.95 from Master of Malt), bottled by you know who, yep That Boutique-y Whisky Company… I’m a fan girl dontcha know!!
What do I know about this whiskey? Well I know I have one of Heaven Hill’s cask ends in my back garden… (no pun intended.)
This is the second sample to be discovered in this box of treats.
My Review
I had a slight hint of fresh cut grass just after I’d poured the sample into my glass, and a little wisp of nail polish remover. It is lightly floral, with a creaminess to it. There was popcorn and a teeny sprinkle of nuts.
The palate was quite spicy at the offset… definitley some oak spice / tannins. A dash of vanilla. I’m getting a little honey and some popcorn with nuts too.
The finish was still spicy / peppery, though a little more subdued.
Many thanks to That Boutique-y Whisky Company / Atom Brands et al. for the sample and opportunity to try this.
Slàinte!
